For a freelancer, the best Chaser alternative is a tool sized for a handful of invoices: Chaser’s Compact plan starts at £199 a month for businesses with up to £4m revenue (checked 27 September 2026), while freelancer tools such as Babara, Dunningly or Paidly are free to start and cost €9–29 a month. If you already invoice in Xero or QuickBooks, switch on their built-in reminders first, or look at Paidnice.

Chaser is a full credit-control system. Its pricing is set by company revenue, and its site has pages for SMS, automated calls, a payment portal, payment plans, late fees, credit checks and an AI email generator. It connects to accounting systems and ERPs, and it also takes a CSV import.
If several people chase hundreds of invoices, that depth is the point. For one person with ten open invoices, it is usually more than the job needs.
Polite reminders that get firmer over time, sent from a list of invoices you already have. A way for the client to answer without writing an email. And the reminders stopping the moment they pay or reply.
That fits in a free plan or a €9–29 subscription. Babara’s Solo plan is €12 a month for 15 invoices at a time, with local prices in pounds and dollars.
