The best invoice reminder tool depends on where your invoices live. If you already use Xero, QuickBooks, FreshBooks, Wave, Zoho Invoice or Invoice Ninja, start with their built-in reminders. If you want reminders without accounting software, standalone tools like Babara, Dunningly, Paidly, Uaryn or PayNudge start free. Credit-control platforms like Chaser (from £199 a month) and Paidnice (from $69 a month) suit teams. Prices checked 27 September 2026.

How we chose and checked

We looked for tools that send payment reminders automatically and that freelancers or small businesses in the UK, EU and US actually use: standalone reminder tools, credit-control platforms and invoicing or accounting apps with reminders built in.

For each one we read the vendor’s own pricing page, help pages and recent announcements on 27 September 2026, and linked the page each fact came from. Where we couldn’t confirm something, we say “unverified”. Where we didn’t find a feature, we say we haven’t found it, not that it doesn’t exist.

What to look for

Where the invoice lives: built-in reminders are simplest if you already invoice in that app. How the client can answer: a pay page or a reply that stops the reminders saves awkward follow-ups. Tone and steps: you should be able to see every email. Price per invoice: some tools charge by invoices or emails a month, others by open invoices at a time.

What is the best free invoice reminder tool?
Zoho Invoice includes automated payment reminders on its free plan if you also invoice in it. For reminders without switching invoicing tools, Babara (3 invoices at a time), Dunningly (15 invoices) and Paidly (5 active invoices) have free plans.
Do Xero and QuickBooks send automatic payment reminders?
Yes. Xero sets up three reminders when you turn them on, and allows up to five. QuickBooks Online UK lets you schedule up to three reminders, up to 90 days before or after the due date.
Which invoice reminder tools work without accounting software?
Babara, Dunningly, Paidly, Uaryn and PayNudge work on their own. Chaser can also take a CSV import, though it is priced for larger teams.
